Aareal Bank has to postpone its annual general meeting

Die Aareal Bank AG the Annual General Meeting originally planned for August 10 must be three weeks different. Due to an error, she cannot be sure that all of her shareholders have actually received an invitation, as she announced on Thursday. The background is the ongoing takeover of the bank by a group of investors. As a result of this procedure, there are currently two securities numbers – one for tendered shares and one for shares that have not been tendered. One of these numbers was not included in the invitations.
The Annual General Meeting is now scheduled to take place on August 31st. The agenda remains essentially unchanged, it said. Six new candidates are proposed for election to the Supervisory Board. It is not the first mistake that caused a stir at an Aareal Bank general meeting.
Last year, the investor Petrus Advisers failed with its candidates for the supervisory board because Morgan Stanley apparently failed to hand over the voting rights of another activist shareholder in time. They were therefore not counted at the general meeting.
