Covered roofs, fallen trees: A violent wind event has caused severe damage near Gießen. The fire brigade speaks of tornado. There is also talk of a tornado.
VA tornado probably kept numerous emergency services busy in Annerod near Gießen in Hesse. Trees fell and roofs were torn off, but there were no injuries like the local one Fire department announced in the evening. The emergency services had to move out a total of 14 times on Sunday afternoon.
A meteorologist from the German Weather Service (DWD) said: “There is a strong suspicion of a tornado.” It will be checked further, it said. A spokesman for the fire brigade initially spoke of a “tornoon”.
